JAMMU, Dec 17: Jhajjar Kotli, RS Pura, Pouni Chak and Phallian Mandal Police seized 6 vehicles involved in illegal mining, while Bishnah and Miran Sahib Police seized illegal dumps of mining material and a JCB.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh, Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma, Police Post Pouni Chak led by PSI Nitish Khajuria and Police Post Phallian Mandal led by PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal raided different locations in their respective areas and seized 6 different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Meanwhile, acting stringently on information, police teams of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Mirza Sultan and Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh raided suspected locations in their respective areas and seized two illegal different dumps of mining material owned by Deepak Lal of Raipur Jattan and Ashwani Kumar of Bishnah. A JCB bearing registration number JK02CH-0975 of Ashwani Kumar was also seized.
DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
The mining was being done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
