REASI, Sept 6: In a special drive launched on the directions of Deputy Commissioner and SSP Reasi, a joint team of Transport authorities, Traffic Police and Legal Metrology Deptt led by ARTO Reasi, Ramesh Samnotra today seized six vehicles and imposed heavy fine on 64 others for violations under MV Act at Katra town.
Official sources said that the team found large number of auto-rikshaws operating in Katra town without meters while many had no valid documents. Even many Vans of the hotels in Katra town were being used as private taxies. The team seized six vehicles, imposed heavy fine on 64 vehicles and challaned 36 others during special drive today. MVI Inspector CS Billoria, Traffic Police and Executive Police officials from Katra and Inspector Legal Metrology accompanied the ARTO during the drive.
