KATHUA, Feb 9: A six year old boy was crushed by a speedy truck on Jammu –Pathankot National Highway at Lacchipur 8 kms from here today when he along with his father was crossing the NH.
The deceased has been identified as Rohit. He was crossing the highway when a speedy truck bearing registration number PB 060445 hit him resulting in his instant death. However the driver of the truck identified as Balwinder Singh of Batala Punjab halted the truck and surrendered before the police. The police arrested the driver and seized the truck. A case under Section 279/304 was registered in PS Kathua against the driver of the truck. The body of deceased boy will be handed over to family members after postmortem tomorrow. It has been kept in mortuary at DH Kathua.
