Srinagar, Dec 5: A local court in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district today awarded six year imprisonment to a rape accused.
Additional and Session Judge Handwara, Shaziya Tabassum announced the judgment in a case under FIR number 97/20000 under sections 376 and 451 RPC. The case was registered against Ghulam Hassan Gujri of Handwara.
The court sentenced the accused to 6 years rigorous imprisonment and awarded 10 thousand rupees fine under section 376 and 2 years imprisonment and two thousand rupees fine under section 451 RPC. The amount of fine would be paid to the victim.
