RAJOURI, May 30: A 22-year-old girl allegedly kidnapped and rapped by a 60-year-old ex-serviceman hailing from Lamberi in Rajouri was today rescued by police from the clutches of the accused at Nowshera.
The girl had been locked in a rented building at Nowshera town and she was being sexually assaulted by her kidnapper for the last four days. Identified as Mukhtar Ahmed (60), son of Mohammed Sultan, resident of Lamberi ( Rajouri), the accused has been put behind the bars. His one wife had died while the second had been divorced. One of his sons, is working in Police Department.
A senior police official disclosed that action was taken after parents of 22-year-old Sitara Begum (name changed), hailing from Sangiot in Gursai (Mendhar), lodged a report that their daughter had gone to a Dargah of Pir near Rajouri and she went missing on May 24. The police registered a case and started investigation.
On the basis of some inputs a police party led by SHO Gursai under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Surinder Choudhary raided a private building and recovered the girl. She had been locked from outside. The accused though tried to escape but he was also nabbed.
The girl revealed that she had gone to Pir Baba and this old man had also gone there. Taking advantage of her innocence, he took her to a near by place and offered some drink. She turned unconscious and then she found her in this house. He repeatedly committed sexual assaults on her and confined her inside this house. The police recorded statement the statement of the girl and sent her for Medical examination. A case FIR No. 37/2014 under Sections 366/376/342 RPC has been registered against him.
