MENDHAR, July 3: Sixty kilograms of stale vegetables and 40 kg of adulterated sweets were destroyed today by a team of Mendhar administration during its drive against adulterated food items.
A team comprising Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Mendhar, Abdul Khaliq, Naib Tehsildar, Mendhar, Aftab Hussain Shah and Assistant Surgeon, Dr Tariq Ahmed Khan, on the directions of SDM Mendhar, Ramesh Kumar visited various food establishments including vegetable and fruit vendors and destroyed about 60 kg of vegetables and 40 kg of sweets not worth eating for humans.
The team also seized about 20kg of polythene carry bags and realized a fine of Rs 5850 from all defaulters. The Mendhar administration has asked all the vendors to maintain proper rate lists and not to sell adulterated and stale items.
