Sir,
I would like to draw the attention of every stake holder towards the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s order Vide No: 682-Edu of 2018 Dated: 15 -05-2018 issued by the Secretary to the Government School Education Department which pertains to new school timing from 9 am-3 pm in Government and private schools of Kashmir and Jammu Division.
It bothers the student community and parents greatly as well as teachers also to some extent due to tough topography, hilly terrain and poor transport facilities. Most of the students especially of intermediate level have to cover a distance of 15 Km to 20 Km on foot to reach school.
But nobody is in a position from School Headmaster or Principal to Minister in the administrative hierarchy of Education Department to consider the suffering of these unheard voices of people of these regions. It is just like to throttle the learners by passing such order without thinking over its pros and cons.
The officials, whoever in the hierarchy of administration, should ascertain the validity and implementation of this peculiar order whether it is suits the well being of the pupils .It is matter of reconsideration and rectification.
Therefore, it is requested to the State Government that it should scrape the order and fresh order may very kindly be issued in this regard with traditional school timing that is from 10 am – 4 pm for genuine welfare of students in Winter Zone Schools of Jammu Division and all schools of Kashmir Division.
Yours etc…..
Pawan Kumar,
Chakal
