JAMMU, Feb 9: The 643rd birthday of Shri Guru Ravi Dass ji Maharaj was celebrated with great religious fervor and enthusiasm by All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha at Krishna Nagar, Canal Road here today.
A large number of devotees from various parts of Jammu attended the function and offered special prayers at the temple. The function was organised under chairmanship of Piran Ditta, president of the Sabha.

Lt Governor GC Murmu could not attend due to pre- while occupation and former minister and PCC vice president Raman Bhalla attended the function as chief guest. He offered special prayers and greeted the people on this occasion.
Bhalla while paying floral tribute to Guru Ravi Dass Ji stressed the need of unity and brotherhood among the people of Jammu Kashmir. He cautioned the Sangat to beware of decisive forces and to strictly follow the path shown by great guru.
Referring to the points raised in the memorandum, Bhalla assured to take up their issues with the Government in Delhi and also with the Lt Governor.
Piran Ditta, president of the Sabha strongly condemned the anti- social elements, who got the Shobha Yatra of Guru Ji stayed through court this year. He assured the Sangat that he will remain in service of Dalit Samaj all the times.
The devotees showed their resentment against the so called leaders/anti social elements for their mischief. He stressed the need of unity to fight with anti- scheduled caste elements. Piran Ditta extended greetings to whole Ravi Dassia Samaj of Jammu and Kashmir.
School children presented colourful programme on this occasion.
Dev Dildar renowned Sufi Singer from Punjab also presented programme on life and mission of Guru Ravi Dass Ji, which was admired by Sangat at large. A community langar was also arranged on the occasion.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included Sham Sunder Basson, Yudhvir Singh Coporator, Badhri Nath, Raj Kumar Raja, Deepak Bangotra, Romesh Hans, Darshan Rana, Dr Raj Pal Hans, Banarsi Digra, Mulkhraj and Joginder Digra.
Similar functions were held at Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua and some other parts of the region. At Reasi, a Shobha Yatra was also taken out.
