RAJOURI, Feb 5: The police seized 65 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested two persons in this connection in Nowshera area today.
Official sources said that a police party from Dharamsal led by SHO Manpreet Singh during surprise checking at Bakhar recovered 16 bottles of Whisky of type 999, 750 ml each and 49 bottles of Rum , 750 ml each from the possession of Kamaljeet, son of Kalpal Singh and Mohd Tariq, son of Mohd Aslam, both residents of Chowki Handan, Tehsil Nowshera, who were carrying the said illicit liquor in a vehichle, Eco Sport bearing Registration No.PB01N/0701.
In this connection, Dharamsal police has taken the cognizance and lodged an FIR 09/2023 u/s 48(A) Excise Act against both the accused persons and started investigation in the matter.
