UDHAMPUR, June 30: Udhampur police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 65 Kg poppy straw from his possession.
Reports said that a Police party from PP Udhampur, led by the SHO, intercepted a truck bearing registration number HP69-1858 at Jakhani naka and subjected it to through search. During search, police party recovered 65 kg poppy straw, which was seized on the spot. Police also arrested the truck driver, namely Daljeet Singh, son of Kashmir Singh of Sunder Nagar, Kapurthala Punjab, who was transporting the contraband from Kashmir valley towards Punjab.
In this connection, a case FIR number 290/2017, under section 8/15 NDPS Act, has been registered in PS Udhampur.
