68 shelters handed over to flood victims

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: In order to help the people, who had lost their houses in devastating floods, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited and its philanthropist partner United Way of India handed over 68 shelters to the flood affected people at village Marvell in Pulwama under “Hum Hain…… Ummeed-E-Kashmir” initiative.
The initiative has collected over Rs 7 crore till date and has successfully managed to complete the construction of the first set of 68 shelters in Pulwama.
Pradeep Hejmadi, Business head, Zee TV said “Our initiate ‘Hum Hain…..Ummeed-E-Kashmir’ truly highlighted Zee TV’s core proposition, ‘Har Lamha Nayi Ummeed’ that aims to capture the beauty of re-discovering a new ray of hope with every moment of life.
He added that today’s handover of 68 shelters in Pulwama is just a first step as donations are continuing to pour in and we will ensure that we are a strong national voice in helping victims to resume their normal lives.
“We are grateful to each and everyone who graciously donated to help all those affected in recent floods in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Vishakhapatnam”, Hejmadi added.
It is to mention that, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited and its philanthropist partner United Way of India had announced the plan of intervention on November 26 to construct 108 transient shelters for flood affected communities in eight of the worst affected villages of Pulwama district by the end of December.
