69th Independence Day celebrated with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 14: The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour by various educational institutions throughout the State.
Students of KC Public School celebrated Independence Day by putting up a brief cultural show comprising two patriotic speeches, a patriotic group song and two choreographed patriotic dances in a special assembly session of the senior wing of the School. Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Amarendra Mishra elaborated on the concepts of freedom and independence, and advised the students to listen to the Independence Day address of Prime Minister of the Country.
The students and staff of KC International School celebrated Independence Day with various activities including Inter-house music competition for students of Classes VI-X and a flag making as well as badge making competition for students of middle wing of the school. The students of classes I and II made ‘take aways’ for Independence Day. Principal, Maya Mishra advised the students not to misuse their rights and liberties but remember the freedom fighters and their sacrifices and take India to great heights.
On the eve of Independence Day a cultural programme was organized in GD Goenka Public School Students of Kindergarten-XII took part in the programme. They sang patriotic songs and presented a skit on National Integration. Students dressed up as freedom fighters like Subash Chander Bose, Mahatama Gandhi, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and many more. The programme concluded with National Anthem. Principal, Dr R P Singh, also enlightened the children with his thoughts on freedom and the responsibility of students of today.
The 69th Independence Day was celebrated at Jodhamal Public School with the students singing patriotic songs and presenting folk dances. Snober, a student of Class XI also gave speech on the importance of the day in every Indian’s life. Principal of the school, Trilok Singh Bist, also threw light on the importance of the day and advised the students to be determined to take the nation to new heights while adopting the ideology of the great freedom fighters.

On the eve of Independence Day, various programmes were organized in Heritage School. In the Morning Assembly glowing tributes were paid to the freedom fighters who suffered untold miseries to free the nation. The song ‘Rang de basanti chola’ sung by the choir echoed in the school premises.  A story telling session was held in KG Wing, wherein the Tiny Tots were narrated heroic tales of freedom fighters. In his address to the students, Principal, Jagadish Singh Dhami motivated students to follow the ideals of our freedom fighters and to cherish the valuable gift of freedom.
The enthusiastic students of MV International School celebrated the 68th Independence Day with the formation of India’s Map in the school campus forwarding the message of peace and harmony. A large group of students with tricolor bands, ribbons and even students also coloured their hands with national flag. Director, Gourav Abrol and Principal, KL Dogra and chairman of the school, Hira Lal Abrol in their speech forwarded the message to the young Indians to love and respect the country like their most dear ones.
As part of Independence Day celebrations, Wonder World School, Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar organized a recitation competition for LKG and UKG students. The school and classrooms were decorated with tricoloured balloons and kites. Children dressed in saffron, white and green colour dresses recited patriotic songs and poem, and also spoke on the importance of the day.
India week was celebrated at KC Gurukul Public School with great pomp and show. The week began on August 8. The students of primary as well as secondary classes took an active part in decorating school premises with rangoli, charts and with innumerable written material highlighting the India’s Independence. A special assembly was organized where students and teachers expressed their love and affection towards the country. The special assembly ended with singing of National Anthem.
Roots-The Montessori House also celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. A short cultural program was displayed by the students of the Montessori-1 students. Students of Montessori-2 performed on the song “Nana Muna Rahi Hun”. The students of Montessori-3a and 3b narrated songs of freedom fighters. The National Flag was unfurled by principal of the school, Pragya Gupta. The function concluded with National Anthem.
Vinayak Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Kunjwani, celebrated 69th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm through a special assembly at Kunjwani Campus. The assembly started with Flag hoisting by Chairman of Institute, Amardeep Singh, who threw light on the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The assembly concluded with presentation of dances, dramas, short plays, poems and speeches by the students.
The Independence Day was celebrated in Daffodils Care Convent School with great patriotic fervor. The Tricolour was unfurled by principal of the school. The children attired as different freedom fighters spoke patriotic slogans and expressed their patriotic zeal through poems, songs and dances. The sweets were also distributed among the students.
Special children of Asha School at Tiger Division celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervor. The school was decorated with tricolor buntings and balloons which fascinated the children. Principal, Juhi Mathur, spoke to the children about the significance of the day and the National Flag. A traditional march past was held with the students holding the Tricolour and saluting it. Sweets and chocolates were distributed among the students.
KIDZEE, a play way school of “Zee Learn Ltd” celebrated “Independence Day” at its all branches –Anand Nagar Bohri, Talab Tillo, Rehari Colony, Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat with great enthusiasm. The function started with the hoisting of National Flag. The toddlers were given demo regarding how our freedom fighters fought for the freedom of our country. The kids were dressed up in various costumes of freedom fighters depicting their personalities.
A special morning assembly was held at SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Jammu to celebrate Independence Day. All the four houses of the school namely Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum and Tawi Houses enthralled the audience by presenting colourful cultural items like solo and group songs, dances and skits depicting patriotic fervor. Speeches on Independence Day were also delivered by the students. The program culminated with the singing of National Anthem.
On the eve of Independence Day, the students and teachers of Shangrilla Public School, Sarwal, Jammu, presented a unique dramatization of the struggle for Independence of India from the British. The dramatization encompassed a vibrant display of events from 1857, interspersed with music and patriotic songs, sung melodiously by the children. In his address, Principal, Sureshta Khajuria said threw light on values of freedom and patriotism.
In connection with Independence Day, the students of Crescent Public School presented a colourful event comprising patriotic songs and dances. Earlier, the Tricolour was unfurled by chairman of the school, which was followed by National Anthem. Tricolour balloons were released in the air by the school management and senior staff. The chairman and Director of the school also addressed to the students.
Guru Harkrishan Public School, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu, also celebrated the day with great fervor. Principal, Rita Popli, unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem. The celebration was also marked by patriotic songs and dances. Principal of the school in his address, reminded the gathering the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for our freedom.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, celebrated 69th Independence Day with fervor and gaiety. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Managing Director of the school hoisted the Tricolour. The students presented various cultural activities. Principal, Devinder Kour, highlighted the sacrifices of the martyrs for the motherland. The function concluded with National Anthem sung by students and staff.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Bohri, Jammu celebrated Independence Day with hosting of National flag by the Managing Director of the school, Parneesh Mahajan. The students were given demo regarding this grand occasion. Managing Director in his address shared his views about the great freedom fighters who struggled a lot to get India free. A Rangoli making competition was also held.
The Independence Day was also celebrated in Sacred Heart College of Education, Paloura, Jammu. Director of the college, Udhay Singh Chib, hoisted the National Flag. It was followed by National Anthem and other patriotic songs sung by the students. In his speech, Udhay Singh Chib, stressed on the students to follow the footsteps of our freedom fighters.
To mark 69th Independence Day, a number of activities were organized in MHAC School campus. A group song competition was organized wherein 15 teams of Class VII and VIII participated. All the participants presented melodious patriotic songs which were highly applauded by the students and the staff. A Quiz and a ‘Rakhi Making’ competition also enhanced the festivity of the Independence Day.
On the occasion of Independence Day, The Toddlers of Junior Wing of New Era Environmental High School came in the school in the attire of freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi Bai and recited their famous slogans. The students of Senior Wing presented beautiful short scenes depicting hardships faced by Indians during freedom struggle. Principal of the school in his address asked the students to become strong pillars of Nation.
A colourful function marked the celebration of 69th Independence Day in Elite Public High School, Om Nagar, Udheywalla, Jammu. The patriotic fervor was vibrantly alive in the speeches and colourful performances of the students. Managing Director, Vasudha Mahajan, hoisted the National Flag. The function concluded with National Anthem.
The day was also celebrated with pomp and enthusiasm at Shiksha Niketan School, where students of primary wing presented dance on song ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Vatan Sathiyon’. The senior wing students also performed on various patriotic songs. Principal, Rameshwar Mengi, threw light on the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
The toddlers of Lord Mahavira Playway School celebrated Independence Day with presentation of various patriotic activities. Carrying the Tricolours in their hands, the little angels also sung various patriotic songs. Later, Principal, Madhu Sharma distributed sweets among the students.
The students of Euro Care today presented a mélange of patriotic activities in connection with Independence Day celebrations. It was a pleasure to see kids dressed up as National symbol of our country as together they recited National Anthem.
The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm by the staff and the students of APS Rakhmuthi in its school premises. The day was graced by Chairman of APS Rakhmuthi. The programme was ushered in by the speech delivered by Sammy Verma of class IX A which was followed by a plethora of events. The House choirs enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition of patriotic song. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
In connection with Independence Day, Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force organized a drawing and painting competition at Army Goodwill School, Potha and Government Girls High School, Harni. The theme of the event was “People Friendly Army and National Integration”. The event got an overwhelming response and more than 250 students attended the event at both locations.
The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety at SIPS premises. After the traditional lighting of lamp the assembly was addressed by chief guest, Dr Kamal Saini. This was followed by the National Anthem. The students also presented a show of the great personalities who gave their head and heart for the cause of Nation.
An Inter-House Painting Competition on the theme ‘Independence Day’ was organized in the premises of ASN Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat, Jammu to celebrate Independence Day. The students presented colourful paintings highlighting National Flag, National map National heros, etc in their paintings. The gifts were also presented to the winners.
Army’s “Forever in Operation Division” conducted an Inter School Cultural Competition at Khumbathang to commemorate 69th Independence Day. A total of 47 teams from seven schools of the region participated in the competition. The main events comprised of regional and hindi solo song, group song, qawaali, dance, Ladakhi group dance. The winners and runners up were awarded prizes by Archana Pande, Convener, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), Forever in Operations Division.
Army Goodwill Public School, Rajouri celebrated the 69th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and military grandeur. Major General DA Chaturvedi, GOC, Ace of Spades Division, who was the chief guest unfurled the Tricolour, which was followed by a colourful cultural program. The children paid homage to the great freedom fighters and also celebrated the spirit of unity through various songs and folk dances. The chief guest presented gift hampers to all the participants and exhorted the children to promote the spirit of unity and grow up to be responsible citizens of the Nation.
The day was also celebrated by Happy Hours School, Rehari, where in a special assembly session Principal of the school inculcated the nationalism in the students by throwing light on the sacrifices of freedom fighters of the Country.
The 69th Independence Day was also celebrated in Chander Bhaga High School, Akhnoor, where students of Primary wing presented a play depicting the ‘freedom struggle of India’. Students of Class II- V participated in ‘Flag Making’, ‘Badge Making’ and ‘Show & Tell’ competitions. The function concluded with National Anthem.
Several colourful events were organized in Tiny Booboos School on the eve of Independence Day. The children presented different poems relating to Independence of India and remembered the bravery of martyrs who laid their lives to free the country from British rule. Principal of the school threw light on the importance of the day in length and distributed sweets among the students.
The 69th anniversary of India’s independence was celebrated today with full enthusiasm and fervour by the students of India Kids School (Kidzee), Udhampur. Chief guest, Gourav Mahajan, DSP Udhampur, hoisted the tricolour and filled the students with patriotic spirit with his inspiring speech. The students also presented a colourful programme and delivered inspirational speeches. The highlight of the programme was a wonderful dance on the National song “Vande Mataram”.
To celebrate Independence Day, a colourful programme was also organized at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bazar Qasaban, Jammu. Shafqat Javed Chib, Principal of the school, presided over the function and delivered a motivational speech to the students. Sweets were also distributed among the students.
Popular Model High School, Nanak Nagar, Jammu also celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervor. Col BD Sharma, who was the chief guest unfurled the National Flag. The students presented patriotic songs and dances. The function concluded with National Anthem.
The staff and students of SM Jain Higher Secondary celebrated Independence Day at a simple but impressive function held in school campus. The president of managing committee, Sunil Jain, was the chief guest. Principal, Suresh Gupta in her speech emphasized on the need of imbibing patriotic spirit among the students.
Light House Public School, Chowk Chabutra, Jammu celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Children preformed dance items on patriotic songs. A fancy dress show was also organized where students were dressed in attires of our freedom fighters.
MNKG Moutessori Public High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organized a colourful programme to celebrate Independence Day. The programme commenced with the flag hoisting by chairman, Rabinder Singh along with Principal, Gurdip Kour. It was followed by National Anthem.
Independence Day was also celebrated in the school premises of Abhay Higher Secondary School, Muthi, wherein students presented colourful programme likes patriotic songs and dances. An Inter-school quiz regarding ‘Independence Day’ were also organized. Principal, Kiran Raina, highlighted the importance of the day in his speech.
With patriotic fervour the students and staff of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu celebrated Independence Day to reinforce “Swach Bharat”, “Women Empowerment” and “United colours of India”. Kawalpreet, the guest of honour and Principal cum vice chairperson, Rohini Aima, spoke on the importance of the day.
RM Public School celebrated the forth coming 69th Independence Day with gusto and enthusiasm. A feel of patriotism was seen among the students and staff. Trustee of the School, Rita Mengi, unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem and colourful performances by the students.
The day was celebrated at Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School Akalpur Morh, Udheywala with true patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and gaiety. The programme was held in the school auditorium with a prayer to goddess Saraswati. In her address, Principal, Annapurna Koul, threw light on the objective of celebrating this day.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School and JK Little Millenium, Talab Tillo, Jammu celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety. On the occasion, students sang patriotic songs followed by National Anthem. Managing Director, Sanjeev Gupta and Academic Director, Rajni Gupta in their speeches encouraged the students to look forward for the upliftment of Nation’s pride.
Luthra Public School, Talab Tillo and Shemrock Angels celebrated 69th Independence Day at BR Luthra Educational complex auditorium. Anil Chopra, president, DCC Jammu urban, who was the chief guest hoisted the Tri-colour. Different cultural items were presented on the occasion by the students.
Banyan International School saluted the Nation on the eve of its 69th Independence Day. Principal of the school hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem singing the national song and paying tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam and freedom fighters. The students put up a well organised show and reiterated the feeling of patriotism.
Shemrock International School celebrated “Independence Day” with great joy and fervor. Students presented various cultural items and patriotic songs. Slogans of different freedom fighters were presented by students with great enthusiasm.  Oral presentation by senior students was outstanding. Bharti Bhardwaj, Director, Shemrock International School, in her speech laid stress on discipline.
Sai Shyam Public School celebrated Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. On this occasion students from various classes of the school spoke on the significance of the day. Incharge Principal, Anita Raina and vice-principal of the School, JN Bhat also spoke on the occasion.
St Mary’s Infant Pre School (SMIPS), Jammu celebrated the 69th Independence Day with full patriotic fervour and zeal. The celebrations commenced with singing of National Anthem and unfurling of the National Flag by the chief guest, Rajesh Bakshi, Member, Cantonment Board, Jammu Cantt. The tiny tots proudly wore the tri-colour and marked the occasion by singing patriotic songs and reciting poetry.
