SRINGAR Sept 2: Dermatology Department of GMC Srinagar bagged the second and third prize in the award paper session for the research papers presented by Dr Saniya Akhtar and Dr Sumaya Zeerak on Contact Dermatitis in Cottage Industry workers and Occupational Dermatoses in Veterinarians and Veterinary workers in Kashmir valley whereas the first prize went to Dr B Rahul Kumar from JIPMER Pondicherry for his research paper on Chronic paronychia-A hand dermatitis indeed during the 6th Annual Conference of the Contact and Occupational Dermatoses Forum of India (CODFICON 2014) which was held for the first time in the State.
In the poster session, first prize went to Dr Shraddha from PGI-Chandigarh,second prize to Dr Parvaiz Anwar from GMC Jammu and third prize to DrPrafull from GMC Kota Rajasthan. The award and poster sessions were judged by reputed academicians like Prof. Ashok Bajaj, Prof. M.Ramam, Prof. Devinder Thappa, Prof. Vikram Mahajan and Dr Dipankar De.
In the quiz session which was a tight contest between eight teams from all over the country, DrSaniya and DrSumaya from GMC Srinagar’s Dermatology Deptt. bagged the second prize whereas the first prize went to PGI Chandigarh and the third prize to IGMC Shimla.

Governor N.N.Vohra inaugurated the conference and was the chief guest on this occasion and released the souvenir-cumabstract book in presence of Taj-Mohi-ud-Din, Minister of Health and Medical Education J&K, the guest of honour, Prof. Rafiq Ahmad Pampori, Principal/Dean GMC Srinagar, patron of this conference, Prof. Sanjeev Handa, President Contact and Occupational Dermatoses Forum of India and Head Deptt. of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology PGI-Chandigarh and Prof. Iffat Hassan, Organizing Secretary and Head Deptt. of Dermatology, STD & Leprosy GMC Srinagar.
On this occasion ,Governor J&K felicitated some senior Dermatologists and presented mementoes to them.
