UDHAMPUR, July 22: Chenani police arrested seven persons for smuggling bovine animals.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Chenani police station laid a naka at Motor Shed on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02BG-9285, JK02AB-8677 and JK02AE-2637.
During checking, police rescued 23 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested seven persons, who have been identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Wahid of Jaswan Kanachack, Jammu, Mohammad Hanif, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Thalora Udhampur, Tofim Nissar, son of Nisar Hussain of Belicharana Jammu, Marid Ali, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Talab Tillo Jammu, Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz of Khanpur Nagrota, Mohammad Sharief, son of Mohammad Hanif of Khanpur Nagrota and Altaf Hussain, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Talab Tillo Camp, Jammu.
Cases under FIR Number 100/17, 101/17 and 102/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act have been registered at Chenani police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chenani Inspector Paramjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Chanderjeet Singh, Additional SP Faisal Qureshi and SSP Udhampur Mohammad Rayees Bhat.
