JAMMU, July 31: Gandhi Nagar police arrested seven persons for swindling over Rs 69 lakh.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Sardari Lal Sharma, Authorized Signatory, CMS Info. System Limited, Trikuta Nagar, today with Gandhi Nagar police station stating that employee of their company namely Deepak Sharma, son of Kewal Krishan of Palli, District Samba who was authorized by the company for cash pickup and delivery for Jammu Location in connivance with Harvinder Singh alias Rambo, son of Ujagar Singh of Gurha Bakshi Nagar, Ashok Kumar, son of Bindraban of Chinar Enclave, Channi, Sumit Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Ward No. 9 Vijaypur, District Samba, Sanjay Kumar alias Sanju, son of Om Parkash Sharma of Vijaypur Pind, District Samba, Ankush Gupta, son of Kewal Krishan of Ward No. 10 Vijaypur, District Samba and Bhibishan Kumar alias Badri, son of Badri Nath of Ward No. 3 Vijaypur, District Samba had misappropriated an amount of Rs 69,90,797 collected from different clients and causes huge loss to the company.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 177/16 under Section 409, 403 and 120-B RPC was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, all the accused have been arrested by a special team constituted for the purpose. The accused during questioning disclosed that they had used the amount in IPL betting for illegitimate profits.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar made the arrest under supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shazaad Salaria.
