7 arrested, vehicles seized for illegal mining

Srinagar, Sept 11: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today seized 7 vehicles and arrested 7 persons in Ganderbal.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, police parties led by SHO PS Ganderbal and in-charge PP Nagbal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal seized 7 Tippers and arrested 7 persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal and Police Post Nagbal, police said.
As per police, those arrested have been identified as Aadil Ahmad Buhroo, son of Abdul Ahad Buhroo resident of Bamloora, Manzoor Ahmad Khoroo, son of Abdul Satar Khoroo resident of Saloora, Mehraj ud Din Mir son of Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Saloora, Altaf Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar resident of Malpora, Rayees Ahmed Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Bobispora, Altaf Ahmad Wani son of Gh Nabi Wani resident of Nunar and Ghulam Mohammed son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din resident of Syedpora Khimber.
Accordingly, police said, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation have been initiated.
