7 bovine smugglers held, 48 animals rescued

JAMMU, Oct 24: Police today arrested seven bovine smugglers and rescued forty-eight milch animals from their possession at Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli.
Police spokesman said that, during naka at Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli, police intercepted four trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AM 8406, JK02AG 4469, JK05C 6587 and JK05C 8764.
During checking police recovered forty-eight bovine animals and arrested seven bovine smugglers identified as Mohd Rafiq of Khanpur, Ravi Kumar of Khour, Shakeel Ahmed of Khadwal, Bashir Ahmed and Raj Ali of RS Pura, Mashooq Ali and Attan Mohd of Pattan, spokesman informed.
The arrest was made by SHO Nagrota OP Chib and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Pervez Sajjad, under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary.
