7 bovines rescued

UDHAMPUR, Oct 13: Udhampur Police rescued 7 bovines, which were being smuggled to Kashmir Valley.
Police party of Police Station Udhampur, headed by SHO Raghubir Singh, intercepted an Auto load carrier JK14J-5071 at Jakhani for checking purpose. On physical checking, police team found three bovines loaded in the said vehicle without any valid permission.
Thereafter all the three bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle, identified as Tariq Hussain, son of Mohd Rafiq of Chakkar Udhampur, was arrested on the spot.
In another case, Police received an information that four bovines were being smuggled in an Auto load carrier bearing registration number JK14J- 9710. Acting swiftly, Police rescued all the bovines, but driver of the Auto managed to escape. A case FIR No. 529/2023 U/S 188/IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
