7 bovines rescued, driver arrested

JAMMU, July 13: Police arrested a driver and rescued seven bovine animals from his possession at Bantalab area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nagrota police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Nagrota police station laid a naka at Bantalab and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14B-0496.
On seeing police team, driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased the vehicle and intercepted it at some distance.
During checking, police rescued 7 bovine animals and arrested the driver.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Abdul Karim, a resident of Kanachack.
A case under FIR number 141/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Dilip Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
