7 bovines rescued, driver escapes

JAMMU, Dec 21: Gangyal police rescued 7 bovine animals but the accused driver of the vehicle, in which the bovines were being smuggled, escaped from the spot.
As per police sources, on specific information, a special naka was raised near Kunjwani during the intervening night of December 20 and 21 and a without registration number Tata Mobile was signaled to stop for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. However, acting swiftly, the police team started chasing the vehicle.
The driver after parking the vehicle in Phalain Mandal area, escaped from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
The police team reached the spot and seized the vehicle. During checking, police rescued 7 bovine animals, which the accused driver was smuggling to Valley.
A case under FIR Number 187/15 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at police station Gangyal and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal police station Inspector Aejaz Ahmed foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
