RAJOURI, Apr 16: The police rescued seven bovine animals and arrested five smugglers in this connection in district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that a naka was established in Rajouri area by SHO, Insp Showkat Hussain, under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh.
The Police team intercepted three Tata mobiles vehicles bearing registration number JK11B – 8045, JK20 B- 2124 and JK11E – 0651 loaded with bovine animals. These vehicles were on way to Poonch side without any permission.
In this regard a case under FIR Nos. 170/2023, 171/2023, 172/2023 and 174/2023 U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA Act got registered. Seven bovine animals were rescued by the team. The police arrested five bovine smugglers including drivers in this connection.
They were identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Romesh Chander from Dandesar in Nowshera; Mohd Zulifqar, son of Abdul Rashid from Khablan in Thanamandi; Deepak Kumar, son of Sudama from Chani Parat; Mohd Latif, son of Saab Din from Khablan and Saddam Hussain, son of Said Mohd from Dassal in Rajouri have been arrested and further investigation launched.
