7 dead after musical party’s jeep plunges into canal in Pak

Islamabad, Oct 12: A jeep of a musical party fell into a canal early Thursday morning, leaving seven people dead in the Mianwali district of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province, police said.
Local police said the musical group led by a folk singer was returning home after performing at a concert when their vehicle plunged into the canal near the Paka Kanjhera area of the district.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site but all the people onboard had already died in the canal.
According to the police, the people were traveling on the road alongside the canal when the driver lost control of the jeep which then fell into the canal and sank.
