UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: Police today arrested seven gamblers from Venus Chowk area in the town and seized Rs 56,500 bet money from them.
Acting on a specific information, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur Deepak Jasrotia conducted raid in Venus Chowk area and arrested the gamblers, identified as Ashok Kumar of Karan Nagar, Kumar Bimal of Lambi Gali, Rameshwar Sharma of Kalar, Dheeraj Kumar of Venus Chowk, Aditya Sharma of Kalar, Bansi Lal of Jawahar Nagar and Vikas Gandhotra of Sabji Mandi Udhampur.
Bet money of Rs 56,500 was seized from the gamblers.
Police has registered a case in this connection under 13/Gambling Act.
