JAMMU, Aug 2: Police arrested seven gamblers and recovered Rs 1850 as stake money from their possession in Phallain Mandal area, last night.
The arrested accused were identified as Makhan Singh, Roshan Lal, Jeet Singh, Manohar Kumar, Balbir Singh, Yashpal and Karam Chand. All are residents of Makwal Camp.
Acting on specific information, a Police team led by SI Balram Sharma, in-charge PP Phallain Mandal under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, raided a place and arrested these gamblers red handed. They were playing cards and stake money of Rs 1850 was recovered from their possession.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered in this connection.
