SAMBA, Jan 23: At least seven persons were arrested from this district for gambling and stake money of Rs 1.32 lakh along with playing cards were recovered from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Devarka Nath of Palli, Bari Brahmana; Harnam Singh of Kalu Chak, Jammu; Jinder Pal Singh of Palli, Bari Brahmana; Rajesh Kumar of Sonipat (Haryana) at present Bari Brahmana; Kuldeep Singh, Daleep Singh, and Mohammad Arshad, all residents of Bari Brahmana, were arrested by a team of Bari Brahmana Police Station led by SDPO Bari Brahmana, ASP Mukund Tiberwal and SHO Bari Brahmana from Birpur Complex, Industrial Area, Bari Brahmana.
“Stake money of Rs 132090 and playing cards were also recovered from the possession of the accused,” he said.
The accused have been booked Under Section 13 of the Gambling Act and further investigation taken up.
