7 held in connection with job racket

JAMMU, July 23:  The crime branch of Jammu and Kashmir police today booked seven persons for their alleged involvement in cheating, fraud and criminal conspiracy in a job racket in the state.
Police said the accused had given fake job orders to some people in Social Forestry Department in return for Rs 3 lakh each to meet miscellaneous expenses.
The accused also got the list of selected persons published in a newspaper, they said, adding that when the complainants approached the concerned department for joining, they realised they have been cheated. (PTI)
