MENDHAR, Aug 14: At least seven persons were injured in a clash over a land dispute at village Charngari in Mankote area of Mendhar today.
A police spokesman said that bloody clash took place between the family members of Mehboob Ahmed and Mohd Yunis, both residents of Mankote. About 32 kanal area is under the physical possession of Yunis. Today the members of other family allegedly entered the area along with cattle and caused damage to the standing maize crop. The other party resisted while Mehboob Ahmed claimed that land belonged to him.
Over this members from both the sides had heated exchanges followed by bloody clash. Both sides resorted to stone pelting and used lathis and other sharp edged weapons during clash. Later, police rushed to the spot. Seven injured persons were admitted to Mendhar hospital, Most of them belonged to Yunis family. The police registered FIR No. 105/ 2015 against 18 accused persons.
Those injured were identified as Fahmida Bi, Parveen Akhtar, Musarat Kouser, Shahmeez Akhtar, Razia Bi, Nishat Kouser, Kulsum and Tasleema. No arrest has been reported till this evening.
