7 injured in grenade attack

SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Seven persons were injured when militants lobbed a grenade on Army vehicle in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
Militants hurled a grenade at the Army vehicle part of the convoy at Ganjiwara in the district. The grenade, however, missed the intended target and exploded along the roadside.
Seven pedestrians were injured in the blast. All of them were removed to the nearby hospital for treatment. Five vehicles were also damaged in the blast.
The injured have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Ganaei son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganaei of Kangan Hall, Anantnag, Manzoor Ahmad Son of Gulam Joo of Dialgam, Anantnag, Junaid Manzoor Son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat of Doonipawa, Tawseef Ahmad son of Mohammad Shaban of Monghall, Shahid Nazir Son of Nazir Ahmad Tantray of Mir Bazar, Naseema Wife of Abdul Rashid Khan of Heevan Coloney, Ashajipora, Anantnag,  Tariq Ahmad Shiekh son of Gull Mohammad Shiekh of Brakpora , Anantnag.
Soon after the blast, police and Army launched searches in the area to nab the attackers.
