7 injured in grenade attack, 3 militants trapped

SRINAGAR, Jan 31 : Three militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad were trapped in Pulwama village in South Kashmir by security forces tonight while five civilians and two paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured today in a grenade attack on a CRPF party outside Police Post Sherbagh in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Security forces including 44 RR of Army, Pulwama Police and CRPF cordoned off Drubgam village in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district tonight after inputs about presence of a group of militants in a house.
During the searches of the village, militants fired on the troops leading to a gun battle. Three militants of JeM including Shahid Baba of Drubgam were trapped inside the village.

The firing was on when reports last came in. Additional security forces were rushed to the village to prevent militants from fleeing the area.
And militants hurled a grenade on the CRPF party of 96 Battalion in Sherbagh resulting in injuries to two CRPF men and five pedestrians including three women.
Police said that militants today hurled a grenade on security forces at Sherbagh Chowk in Anantnag district which resulted in injuries to five civilians including 3 women and two CRPF jawans.
The injured civilians have been identified as Rehana Begum, Sobiya Jan, Naza Begum, all three residents of Anchidora, Irfan Dar of Lal Chowk Anantnag and Mohammad Hussain of Sofipora. All the injured civilians and two CRPF men have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
