7 IPS officers posted in J&K, one on deputation promoted

JAMMU, Jan 2: Eight Indian Police Services (IPS) officers from the erstwhile J&K cadre, who are currently posted in the AGMUT cadre, have been promoted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
As per different orders issued by the MHA, four IPS officers have been promoted to the IGP grade, two to the DIGP grade, and two others to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix) with effect from January 1, 2025 or the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier.
Among those officers who have been promoted to the IGP cadre are Sunil Gupta, Sujit Kumar, Vivek Gupta, and Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, all 2007 batch officers.
Sunil Gupta is currently posted as incharge IGP Crime J&K, Sujit Kumar as incharge IGP Security J&K, Vivek Gupta as incharge IGP Railways J&K, and Mohammad Suleman Choudhary as incharge IGP Traffic J&K.

Further, those officers who have been promoted to the DIGP grade are Vinod Kumar and Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar, both 2011 batch officers.
While Vinod Kumar is currently posted as incharge DIG Armed Jammu Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar is deputed to Government of India as Deputy Secretary in the class-I Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat.
Meanwhile, two 2012 batch officers, who have been promoted to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix) are Sargun Shukla and Sandeep Choudhary.
While Sargun Shukla is posted as Commandant IR-15th Battalion Sandeep Choudhary is deputed to NIA Jammu as SSP.
