FEROZEPUR, Aug 18: Border Security Force (BSF) jawans today recovered seven kg heroin, valued at Rs 35 crore in the international market, and fake currency of Rs 5.73 lakh along the Indo-Pakistan border in the Ferozepur sector today.
BSF Commandant P K Rathore said the contraband and the fake Indian currency were recovered from Jagdish border outpost area around 0700 hrs this morning.
He said the BSF had received a tip-off that some Pakistani intruders were likely to infiltrate into the Indian territory along with a consignment of narcotics. The jawans were put on alert.
On conducting a search in the morning, the jawans found a sack containing seven packets, each containing one kg heroin, and fake Indian currency of Rs 5.73 lakh comprising currency notes in Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denomination. (UNI)
