Srinagar, Mar 12: Police today arrested seven militant associates from different areas in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police said that during the intervening night of 5/6 March, Shopian police arrested seven persons from different villages of the district.
Today late evening case (FIR no 40/2021 U/S 7/25 Arms Act 18,20,13,33,38 ULAP Act) has been registered against the arrested persons.
They have been identified as Samiullah Chopan son of Farooq Ahmad Chopan, resident of Meemender, Hilal Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Amin Wani resident of Dachipora, Ramaiz Ahmad Wani son of Muzaffar Ahmad Wani resident of Dachipora, Rouf Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Dachipora, Zahid Ahmad Wani, son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Dachipora, Faizan Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Yousuf Khan resident of Vehil and Shahid Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Iqbal Rather resident of Vehil.
“Two hand grenades and huge ammunition were recovered from their possession”, police added.
