JAMMU, Aug 19: Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kathua, Dr Raj K Thappa today launched special drive against the vehicles violating Traffic rules and seized nine vehicles including seven two-wheelers which were being driven by the under-age boys.
While 87 vehicles were challaned/compounded, nine vehicles including seven two-wheelers and a tractor were seized, Dr Thappa said, adding that fine was imposed on the defaulters.
Traffic rules being violated by the drivers included non-wearing of crash helmets and seat belts, use of mobile telephones and under-age driving.
Drive against those violating Traffic rules and guidelines will continue, Dr Thappa said and called upon the people to adhere to the road safety guidelines.
