7 vehicles seized for illegal mining

SRINAGAR, Aug 11: In a crackdown on illegal mining and transportation of minerals, police today seized seven vehicles and arrested seven drivers in Pulwama.
According to the police, the seized vehicles included four tippers, one tractor and two JCB machines.
The arrests were made in connection with the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the village of Karimabad, Pulwama.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganaie, son of Abdul Rasheed Ganaie; Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Karim Bhat; Irfan Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad; Tanveer Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir; and Mohd Maqbool Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir-all residents of Karimabad, Pulwama. Additionally, Nawaz Ahmad Wagay, son of Fayaz Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Baderhama, Shopian, and Aadil Ali Khan, son of Ali Mohammad Khan, a resident of Kakapora, were also arrested.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law at the Pulwama Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
