JAMMU, Aug 20: Endorsing their full support to Narendra Modi led BJP Government at Centre over abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A as well as reorganization of J&K State into two Union Territories, seven hundred prominent Kashmiri Pandits living across the globe have not only welcomed the epoch making decision but also have strongly condemned a handful discredited individuals with questionable motives for casting aspersions on Government’s historical decision.
These prominent KP personalities not only termed it a bold and daring decision of Modi Government but also said that every patriotic Kashmiri Hindu feels proud of it as abrogation of Article 370 and total merger of J&K State with Indian Union has been their long cherished dream.
They said the controversial Article was not only responsible for the mass exodus of over seven lakh Hindus from Valley and discrimination with the Jammu and Ladakh regions but it also sowed the seeds of secessionist movement in Kashmir over the years.
Among the 700 displaced Kashmiri Pandits included the noted personalities from film world, educationists, social activists, well known artists and theatre personalities. The prominent among them were Anupam Kher, a renowned cine star, Padamshri Dr Subash Kak, Computer Scientist , and poet, USA, Padam Shri, Pandit Bhajan Sopori, Santosh Maestro and Music Director, Delhi, Padamshri Jawahar Lal Koul journalist , Delhi, Padam Shri Dr K N Pandita, Ex Director Central Asian Studies Kashmir, University and author, Bansi Koul, Theatre Director Actor and Playwright, Delhi, Dr Mohan Koul, ex DG, Commonwealth, UK, Dr P N Razdan former Vice Chancellor, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Ex Senior Deputy Director General GSI , Pune, Prof R L Hangloo, V C of Allahabad Central University, Pt. Trilok Kaul, Painter, Ex Director School of Designs Jammu, Sushil Pandit , political thinker and media professional, Dr Shakti Bhan, Gynecologist GMC, Srinagar, Ashok Pandit Film Maker, Director and political Commentator, Prof Kailash Mehra Sadhu and others.
They said being patriotic Kashmiri Hindus they will be ready to launch nationwide campaign in support of the abrogation of Article 370 and creation of two UTs to emancipate the people of the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh of 70 years long suppression and oppression perpetuated on them through the hands of some dynasties who dominated the political spectrum of the State over these years and exploited the people on the name of special status for decades together.
They said the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 – A and reorganization of J&K State into two Union Territories by Narendra Modi Government is a historical and revolutionary decision.
Later disclosing about the campaign launched by Kashmir Pandits in support of Modi Government decision at a press conference here this morning, the leaders of various KP organizations and social activists said that entire Kashmiri Pandit community along with vast majority of nationalistic Indians always believed the Article 370 was the veritable foundation on which a bigoted Muslim State of Jammu and Kashmir was allowed to flourish on the territory of secular India.
The prominent KP leaders who were present in the press conference included PK convener, Dr Agnishekhar, its chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo, secretary, Bihari Lak Kaul, senior leaders Er. P N Raina and Satish Sher, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) , president and general secretary, Advocate Ravinder Raina and Dr T K Bhat, prominent social activist, Hira Lal Bhat, Writer M K Santoshi, Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) convener, P L Koul Budgami, Sanjay Raina from Jagti, Shayam Behari well known writer, Dr Kshema Kaul, PK leader and writer, Sunita Koul Arora and Bimla Aima. They too were signatories to the campaign.
They said “we appreciate, the extra ordinary statesmanship and political will of present Government to dismantle the privileged edifice that sustained Jihadist separatism in Kashmir”. “We the patriotic Hindus of Kashmir scattered across the globe join 1.3 billion Indians in celebrating the release of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh from 70 years of bondage and its full integration with Indian nation”.
“We the global community of displaced Kashmiri Hindus (Pandits) strongly condemn a handful of discredited individuals , with questionable motives, seeking to unethically , represent Kashmir Hindus while casting aspersions on GoI’s historic decision.” They said these individuals are nothing more than victim collaborators who have time and again sought to be complicit with the perpetrators of KPs genocide.
They said the resilient displaced Hindus of Kashmir along with the rest of the conscientious Indians once again hail the emancipating decisions of Modi Government to anal Article 370 and create two Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh. The Kashmiri Hindus eagerly await to see the resolute implementation of the changes on the ground they added.
They further said the patriotic Kashmir Hindus promise their unflinching support to the Government of India for ensuring the full success of emancipating change in Jammu and Kashmir. “We also offer our unconditional availability for contributing in the success of the new revolutionary changes brought about in Jammu and Kashmir” they added.
