70th Republic Day celebrated by Govt institutions, others with patriotism

JAMMU, Jan 27: The 70th Republic Day was celebrated by Government institutions with patriotism.
Principal Resident Commissioner, Dheeraj Gupta, unfurled the National Flag at J&K House Prithvi Raj Road here on the occasion of Republic Day. A contingent of J&K Armed Police presented the Guard of Honour. The ceremonial function was attended by all the officers and officials of J&K State posted at New Delhi. A colourful cultural programme was also presented. Principal Resident Commissioner interacted with the officers and officials of the JK House and gave away gifts and commendation certificates to the participants.
70th Republic Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra. The main function at Katra was held at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, where Simrandeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the 29 contingents drawn from CRPF, NCC, students of various educational institutions of Katra and its surrounding areas besides the Shrine Board Sports Complex’s Coaching Centre. Simrandeep Singh gave away prizes to the students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural programme. On this occasion, he also felicitated the sports persons for excelling in various sports and games. As part of the Republic Day celebrations, Simrandeep Singh, CEO, SMVDSB, also hoisted the tricolour at a function held at the Central Office of the Shrine Board at Katra. At the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, Dr (Brig) MM Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, unfurled the tricolour. At Bhawan, the flag was hoisted by Naresh Kumar, SDM Bhawan, in the presence of CRPF, Police and Shrine Board staff.
Republic Day celebrations were held at SKPA Udhampur. The National Flag was unfurled by M Sulaiman Salaria, ADGP, Director SKPA Udhampur and also took the general salute of the parade contingents.
Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor JMC and Pankaj Magotra Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation hoisted the National Flag at Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex Jammu on the occasion of Republic Day. Officers and officials of JMC were present on the occasion.
Income Tax Department Udhampur celebrated Republic Day at Income Tax Office, Udhampur where the National Flag was unfurled by Income Tax Officer, Vinod Kumar Sharma. It was followed by National Anthem by the audience. The function was attended by Rajeev Gupta, President and Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary Income Tax Bar Association along with its members, Ravi Malguria, President Chamber of Commerce, Sanjeev Sharma, President Beopar Mandal and Heads and Members of various other business associations.
Republic Day was celebrated at Police Technical Training Institute Vijaypur. Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP (Principal) PTTI Vijaypur presided over the function and hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff, students, prominent citizens, locals of adjoining villages, retd police and army personnel. During the function, contingents of police personnel and trainees held March Past. A colourful cultural programme was also organized in which children of Government Schools and trainees and staff of PTTI Vijaypur participated. The overall event was adjudicated by Prof (Retd) Baldev Raj Sharma, Savita Parihar, SSP, Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur and Inspector Anil Sagar.
Republic Day was celebrated by Income Tax Office Katra, wherein the National Flag was unfurled by Income Tax Officer Katra Rajpal Singh. Vijay Choudhary, Inspector of Income Tax Office and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Republic Day was celebrated in District Jail Kathua, wherein Incharge Superintendent Jail Surinder Singh hoisted the national flag. All the jail officers and officials, CRPF officers and officials of 121-Bn F-Coy District Jail Kathua were present on the occasion. A colorful cultural programme was presented by the jail inmates, CRPF personnel and jail staff on the occasion.
Power Grid Northern Region Transmission System-II celebrated Republic Day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu. JP Singh, Executive Director, NRTS-I, who was the chief guest on the occasion, unfurled the National Flag in presence of senior officials including employees, their families and children. Fancy dress show by children and patriotic songs by members of Mahila Samiti and children of the employees, fun games for employees and fete were organized to mark the occasion. Later, JP Singh gave away the prizes to the participants. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Jaydeep Singh Chouhan, Deputy General Manager (HR). The reports of celebrating the Republic Day at all site offices in the Region comprising J&K, HP, Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh were received while filing this report.
Government Railway Police (GRP) Katra celebrated 70th Republic Day at GRP Lines Katra. Ranjit Singh Samyal, SSP GRP Katra hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by singing of national anthem by the officers and men of GRP Katra, RPF and CISF personnel. Later, a cultural programme was organized by the GRP personnel Katra. SDPO Railways Katra/Udhampur, all SHOs, Incharge PPs and other officers of GRP Katra, RPF Katra and CISF personnel Railway Officers, hoteliers, senior citizens, railway officer and local respectable attended the function.
Republic Day celebrations were held in the premises of Red Cross Bhawan Kachi Chawni Jammu. On the occasion, the National Flag was unfurled by Jugal Mahajan Veteran Red Crossor in presence of Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal, Executive Secretary, District Red Cross Society Jammu, R Vijay Mangotra, Kamal Verma, teachers and students of Government Girls High School Kacchi Chawni Jammu, life members, volunteers and staff members of District Red Cross Society Jammu and Childline Jammu.
Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL) celebrated the 70th Republic Day. The main function was organized at its Corporate Office Jammu, which was presided over by the Managing Director of the Company MS Babu, who unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem. Republic day celebrations were also held at Pakal Dul HE Project, Kiru HE Project and Kwar HE Project at Kishtwar.
Republic Day was celebrated at Jammu Airport by Airports Authority with all the airlines, security and other agencies. The flag was hoisted by Airport Director DK Gautam. The Republic Day programme at Jammu Airport was studded with beautiful cultural performances wherein members of all stakeholders i.e. AAI, JKP, CRPF and Airlines participated.
70th Republic Day was celebrated at Dulhasti Power Station Kishtwar. General Manager (Incharge) Yoginder Kotha unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade of CISF contingent. On the occasion, a cultural programme was performed by the students and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya and NHPC employees. Suresh Kumar, General Manager (Elect), RK Sahani, Commandant CISF, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, officers, employees, families, representatives of Unions and local residents were present.
To mark the 70th Republic day, National Flag hoisting ceremony was organized at Indian Institute of Public Administration J&K Regional Branch in association with Sahyog India Flag hoisting was done by Colonel (Retd) Karan Singh, IIPA J&K Regional Branch and special children of Sahyog India. The entire programme was organized under the guidance of Sameer Rekhi, Secretary IIPA J&K Regional Branch. Dr Ashwani Jojra Founder Sahyog India, Dr Anil Gupta, Joint Secretary, Er SK Gupta, Vikrant Kuthiala, Treasurer, Jatin Chanjotra and TN Mattoo were also present on the occasion.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated the 70th Republic Day. The ceremony started with the hoisting of the National Flag by Founder Director Prof BS Sahay, followed by the National Anthem. Vibrant cultural programme was performed by the students of IIM Jammu. The event culminated with the Saraswati Vandana song sung by the Director with an active participation from students.
70th Republic Day was celebrated in District Jail Udhampur, wherein the National Flag was hoisted by Superintendent Jail Harish Kotwal. Guard of honour was presented by the CRPF personnel. Colourful cultural programme was presented by jail inmates and staff.
The Mission First Brigade of Gurj Division organized a vibrate Republic Day function in remote border village Chak Dayala in Samba and dedicated a computer training lab to the village. The function saw a mini run held for school children of five border villages and a cultural programme by students of local schools. Major General K Narayanan, GoC Gurj Division hoisted the National Flag in Government Primary School Chak Dayala and inaugurated the lab. GoC flagged off the run for children and later gave away prizes to the winners. Brig Anil Raman, Cdr, Mission First Brigade was also present during the event.
Department of Agriculture celebrated 70th Republic Day at the Lawns of Krishi Bhawan, Jammu with great fervor and enthusiasm wherein HK Razdan, Director Agriculture Jammu, hoisted the National Flag. The programme was organized jointly by All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF), Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduate Association (NGAGA), J&K Agriculture Technocrats Association (JAKATA), All J&K Agriculture Employees Association (AJKAEA) and Agriculture Drivers Union. A large number of officers and employees of Agriculture Department participated in the function in which cultural programmes and patriotic songs were presented by children of Jagriti Mission School, Talab Tillo and staff members of the department. 40 officers and officials of the Department were awarded with mementoes and certificates for their dedicated and exemplary services in the field of agriculture.
