72-hour long hunger strike by AJKPC concludes

JAMMU, Mar 28: Seventy-two hours long hunger strike of Sarpanchs under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference concluded this morning.
Anil Sharma, general secretary of AJKPC, Ghuman Hassan Puzoo, chief spokesperson and Sarpanch Raj Kumar broke their fast with glass of juice which was offered to them by the AJKPC chairman, Shafiq Mir.
The trio was on complete hunger strike since March 24 morning for their demand of security and implementation of 73rd amendment in Jammu Kashmir.
While addressing the Panchs and Sarpanchs, Anil Sharma said that they would continue to fight for their rights and not let the politicians sit quite if they do not give the panchayats their due share and ensure adequate security”.
Shafiq Mir announced that in a few days the executive body of the organization would hold a meeting and decide next course of action in continuation of their struggle to seek justice for the 33000 Panchayat members.
