JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Oct 23: Seventy two persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir while the Union Territory of Ladakh after quite a long time didn’t report any positive case.
Sixty three cases were registered in Kashmir division and nine in Jammu region.
Four cases were recorded in Jammu district, three in Doda and two in Poonch while rest seven districts in the Jammu region didn’t report any fresh cases today.
Four persons recovered from the virus leaving behind the number of active positive cases to 145 in the Jammu region.
No fresh COVID positive cases were reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
The UT now has 40 active positive cases—39 in Leh and one in Kargil district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 63 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally of positive cases to 331,566 while the total number of active cases has come down to 862.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 207,308 including 204,337 recoveries and 2,254 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 124,258 including 121,938 recoveries and 2,175 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 862 including 717 from Kashmir division and 145 from Jammu division.
With 80 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 326,275 which is 98.40 percent of the total cases.
Those who tested positive include 34 from Srinagar, 13 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 06 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora and 02 from Ganderbal.
As per officials figures, 75,202 positive cases including 844 deaths and 73,934 recoveries are from Srinagar, 24,506 including 282 deaths and 24,120 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,777 including 23,490 recoveries and 207 deaths are from Budgam, 15,507 including 15,304 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,433 including 166 deaths and 14,239 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,589 including 16,364 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,797 cases including 9,674 and 102 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,403 including 10,301 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,487 including 11,362 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,607 including 5,549 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
