JAMMU, Jan 29: National Conference Minister Mir Saif Ullah today said his party was not against implementation of the 73rd constitutional amendment on Panchayati Raj in Jammu and Kashmir, and claimed it would be tabled and passed in the Assembly.
“We have finalised the proposal (on 73rd amendment bill). The bill will go to the Assembly and it would be passed,” Law Minister Mir told reporters here today.
Replying to the demand of Congress for implementation of the 73rd amendment of Constitution in Jammu & Kashmir, said, “…It would be passed in the Assembly. The NC was not against the 73rd amendment.”
Speaking on the issue, Senior Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said, “Congress wants that it be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir as had been done in rest of the country.”
