74 graft cases against IAS, IPS officers in past three years

NEW DELHI:
The CBI has registered 74 corruption cases against IAS and IPS officers among others in last three years, the Government said today.
According to the information made available by the CBI, it had registered 74 cases of Prevention of Corruption Act against IAS, IPS and IRS officers during the last three years — 2012, 2013, 2014 and till March 31, 2015, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh told Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
In reply to another question, he said the Government has not conducted any survey to ascertain whether overall corruption has increased in the country.
“India has been ranked 85th out of 175 countries as per Corruption Perception Index (2014) released by the Transparency International,” the minister said. (AGENCIES)
