74% pass in 12th class exams in J&K

Srinagar, June 6: Under the Uniform Academic Calendar (UAC), the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) announced the combined annual class 12 results today, with a 74 percent overall pass rate in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the details, the overall pass percentage includes 77 percent of female students and 72 percent of male students, with females securing the top positions in all streams.
Officials said that a total of 93,340 students were enrolled for the exam, of which 69,385 were declared successful. Out of those who were declared successful, 25,435 students secured Distinction, 33,437 got First Division, 10,318 Second Division, and 195 students managed Third Division.
At the same time, 22,921 students were declared Reappear, while 1,034 students were declared as ‘Failed’. Additionally, there were 54 students who were absent on the day of exams, 82 had disputed eligibility, 4 resorted to unfair means, and 8 were disqualified.
Regarding the positions secured in different streams, Adeeba from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowhatta, secured the first position in the Science stream with 494 marks out of 500, accounting for 98.8 percent.

The second position in the stream was shared by five students-Aamina Rashid, Aisha Riyaz, Jannat Afaq, Priya Kour, and Tooba Qadri-each scoring 98.6 percent marks.
The third position went to six students-Aarzoo Rafiq, Afreena Jan, Mahika Pandoh, Namanpreet Singh, Zaara Noor, and Ziya Shabir-each securing 98.4 percent marks.
In the Commerce stream, the first position was shared by Anushah Gul and Wafa Feroz Kadla of Green Valley Educational Institute, Ellahibagh, both securing 99.6 percent marks.
The second position in the stream was shared by two students-Aida Omar and Mumin Showkat Kadla-each securing 98.6 percent marks. The third position went to two students, Pooja Choudhary and Saamiya Manzoor, with 98.2 percent marks each.
In the arts stream, the first position was secured by Basna Shah of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, with 99 percent marks.
The second position was shared by two students-Hoor Sajid and Seidra Mukhtar-each with 98.8 percent marks. The third position went to four students, Athar Nabeela, Faheem, Lateef, Sabira Ali, and Sharmeen Shah, each securing 98.6 percent marks.
In the Home Science Stream, the first position was secured by Ainain Niyazi of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Baramulla, with 98.8 percent marks.
The second position went to Aaliyah Parvez of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, with 97.4 percent marks, while the third position was taken by Ruqiya Sultana of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, with 96 percent marks.
