KARGIL, Oct 6: An impressive 75.52% voter turnout was recorded in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil’s Thangdumbur constituency by-election here today.
The election was conducted smoothly, with all necessary arrangements in place to ensure a fair and transparent process.

As per an official communiqué, key officials, including SSP Kargil Shree Ram R, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Election Officer Suhail Ahmad, ASP Mujeeb Rehman, and ACR/Deputy Election Officer Mohammad Sharif, among other officials were actively involved in overseeing the election process.
The election team visited all five Polling Stations, as well as the strong room, counting hall, and control room, to monitor the proceedings and ensure the election was conducted without any hitches.
Voters from all sections of the constituency expressed their appreciation for the district administration’s efforts in facilitating the election, particularly for the seamless use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the improved voter facilities.
The Election Authority commended the cooperation extended by Ladakh Police, district administration officials, polling personnel, political parties, media, transport services, and the electorate, all of whom contributed to the successful conduct of the election.
