77 people challaned for violating SOPs

SAMBA, June,26: Continuing its joint drive with district civil administration, Samba police today booked 77 persons across the district and imposed a fine amounting to Rs 38,500/- on them for violation of COVID appropriate behaviour.
The persons including shopkeepers fined for violation of COVID SOPs and guidelines in various forms.
Police said 70 persons were fined for not wearing face masks in public places and bazaars while five persons including shopkeepers were challaned for not maintaining social distance.
It said two persons were fined for spitting in public places.
During the drive, face masks were also distributed by Samba police to infuse a sense of responsibility among the violators to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
Samba police has made an appeal to its citizens to always wear face masks while coming out from their homes and strict to COVID appropriate behaviour as these are the key preventive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. People were further advised to maintain social distancing and personal hygiene.
