7th Pay Commission implementation

Sir,
The Central Govt has implemented 7th Pay Commission recommendations from Jan. 2016 in favour of its employees and pensioners in totality. In pursuit several states of the country have also implemented  it.  It is unfortunate that Govt of Jammu & Kashmir has prolonged 7th Pay Commission implementation in the State till April 2018. This long delay has compounded the constraints of State employees and pensioners. The present sky rocketting prices of essential goods has added fuel to the fire. The salary and medical allowance with other perks of  State legislators have been largely increased but when the genuine demands of employees and pensioners are in question, the one or the other excuse from the dispensation delays the demands of workers. The meagre amount of Rs 300 as medical allowance for State employees and pensioners sanctioned long back is an eyewash today when a small doctors consulting fee ranges from Rs 500 and even upwards merely for  a fortnight. The old aged pensioner who draws a small amount of pension cannot afford to sustain hefty medical surcharges in their fag end of life. It is a sad state of affairs that State pensioners have not been listed for the State insurance cover when they have tremendously contributed in the development of the State in pre retirement period.
Till 7th Pay Commission recommendations are implemented in the State, interim relief may be granted in favour of the State employees and pensioners to compensate the price rise.
Yours etc..
S N Raina
