7th PC least gainful, more painful: LPEF

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, July 1: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) today said that 7th Pay Commission (PC) recommendations implemented by the Central Government are least gainful and more painful to employees and pensioners.
Addressing a meeting of the employees here today, LPEF president, Abdul Majid Khan, said that 7th PC recommendations appear to fall far short of the genuine demands and aspirations of the employees because of which the Central Trade union organizations have give a call for countrywide strike on July 11 to lodge protest against the same.
He said that the revision of salaries, pension and allowances are required to be based upon the rise in the consumer price index (CPI) in order to protect their income from being eroded due to unprecedented price hike witnessed in respect of almost all essentialities of life.
The Federation chief further said that 100 percent DA should have been merged with basic pay/pension and thereafter fixation should have been made in revised scales of pay, which appeared to have been done neither by the Pay Commission nor Central Government.
