Excelsior Correspondent RAMBAN, Dec 10: Police today booked eight persons under Cigarette and Other Tabacco Products Act (COTPA) at Gool and Dharamkund areas of the district. Police spokesman said that police party from Gool Police Station caught seven persons, who were smoking at public places. They were identified as Tahir Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid, Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Ali, Mohd Shafi, son of Mohd Abdullah, Mohd Yousaf, son of Ghulam Nabi, Mushtaq Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid and Ashiq, son of Jamal Din, all resident of Gool and Abdul Rehman, son of Ghulam Rasool of Dharam, while smoking in public places. Meanwhile, Dharamkund Police also caught one person namely Shoket Ali, son of Abdul Aziz of Chachwah Sangaldan, Tehsil and District Ramban, who was also smoking in public place. All were booked under Cigarette and Other Tabacco Products Act (COTPA) and later produced before the Court of Law, where they were fined Rs 200 each.
