8 bovines rescued, one held

JAMMU/UDHAMPUR, Sept 4: Police today rescued 8 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Udhampur Police Station led by Inspector Deepak Jasrotia laid a naka near Jakheni and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JKO2AQ-3844.
During checking, police recovered four bovine animals and arrested the smuggler, who has been identified as Rashid, son of Hussain of Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
A case under FIR number 272/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police party from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Parvez Sajjad under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary laid a naka at TCP Nagrota and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JKO2AU-5636.
During search, police rescued four bovines, while the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR number 279/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act, 119/117 MV Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and manhunt launched to arrest the absconding driver.
