8 criminals nabbed by Satwari, Gandhi Nagar police

JAMMU, Oct 15: Satwari and Gandhi Nagar police nabbed eight criminals, who were wanted in various cases.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) South Rahul Malik during a press conference here this evening at Police Station Satwari.
Giving further details, SP said that Vijay Kumar alias Babbi, son of Yashpaul Sharma of Belicharan was attacked by two Sikh youth on September 18 at Raipur Satwari with sharp edged weapons. The accused later escaped from the spot on the motorcycle, he added.
The profusely bleeding victim was shifted to hospital, SP said, adding that a case under FIR Number 157/14 under Section 341, 323, 324/34 and 4/25 Arms Act got registered with Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police arrested two persons, who have been identified as Tajinder Singh alias Jinda, son of Darshan Singh of Simble Camp, at present Azad Nagar and Simranjot Singh alias Simran, son of late Daljit Singh of Chatha Pind. During questioning, both the accused have confessed the crime and stated that they attacked the accused owing to some old rivalry, SP added.
Malik further stated that, storekeeper of CAPD namely Sanji Ram lodged a complaint with Police Station Satwari that during the intervening night of October 10 and 11, some unknown thieves broke the window of the CAPD Godown at Chatha and decamped with 9 bags of sugar. Acting on the complaint, a case was registered at Satwari Police Station under FIR number 160/14 under Section 457 and 380 RPC and during the course of investigation, police team led by PSI Sandeep Charak arrested three accused, who have been identified as Kamal Kumar, son of Suraj Parkash of Chatha Mill, Bharat Bhushan, son of Raj Kumar of village Chatha and Chotu Kumar, son of Bhushan Kumar of Chatha Mill. The accused have confessed to commit the crime, he added.
SP added that, on October 13, 2014, Gandhi Nagar police received an information through reliable sources that some persons are smuggling drugs and psychotropic substances in the society and accordingly a naka was raised by the police near cremation ground at Shastri Nagar and arrested two narcotic smugglers along with ganja.
The accused have been identified as Mumtaz Ali, son of Barkat Hussain of Bihar, at present Trikuta Nagar and Tilak Raj alias Kaka, son of Chain Singh of Nanak Nagar, SP said, adding that on the disclosure of the accused persons during questioning, one more accused namely Hira Lal, son of Hardev Singh of Patna Bihar, at present Gangyal was arrested from Balmiki Colony along with 400 grams ganja. Search for one more narcotic smuggler namely Sanju Singh of Trikuta Nagar is going on, SP added.
Further investigation into the cases is going on, he said.
The arrests were affected by SHO Satwari Police Station Inspector Suhail Rashid, SHO Gandhi Nagar Police Station Inspector Manzoor Ahmed Kohli, SI Davinder Singh and PSI Ashiq Hussain from Gandhi Nagar Police Station, Incharge Gadigarh Police Post PSI Khayati Maan Khajuria and Incharge Chatha Police Station PSI Sandeep Charak under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
