8 gamblers arrested with stake money

Srinagar, July 25: The police today arrested 8 gamblers in Baramulla and Bandipora while the stake money was also seized from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities near Govt Degree College Pattan, a police party led by SHO Police Station Pattan raided the specific spot and arrested 4 gamblers, the police said.
“They have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohd Ramzan, resident of Frastahar Kreeri, Nadeem Ahmad Wani, son of Nazir Ahmad Wani, resident of Wailoo Hajibal, Ab Majeed Sheikh, son of Gh Mohd Sheikh, resident of Par Mohalla Pattan, and Assadullah Bhat, son of Gh Mohi ud din Bhat, resident of Bhat Mohalla Pattan.”
The police have also seized stake money of Rs 8300/- and playing cards from their possession. “They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.”
In Bandipora, the police said, acting on specific information regarding gambling activities at Aloosa Ghat, a police party led by Incharge Police Post Aloosa raided the particular spot and arrested four gamblers.
“They have been identified as Tousif Ahmad Dar, Mohmad Maqbool Fafoo, Bashir Ahmad Dar, and Farooq Ahmad Dar, all residents of Aloosa Ghat. Police seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
