8 held with Rs 42,700 stake money

JAMMU, Nov 24: Police arrested eight persons along with Rs 42,700 stake money and playing cards from Nanak Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station conducted raid in Nanak Nagar area and nabbed 8 gamblers along with Rs 42,700 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Charan Singh, son of Ajit Singh, Jaspreet Singh, son of Kulwant Singh, Sunny Matoo, son of Avtar Krishnan, Simran Gupta, son of Anand Gupta, all residents of Nanak Nagar, Jagjeet Singh, son of Harman Singh of Bhore Camp, Manminder Singh, son of Baldev Singh of Kunjwani, Harbakash Singh, son of Amarjeet Singh of Digiana and Parvinder Singh, son of Jai Singh of Phinder, RS Pura.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered against them at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Inspector Bishnesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta, SP City South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
